The arrival of the art nouveau period gave birth to an era of images. This was largely due to new and improved printing methods lithography, in particular coupled with the emergence of the working class and the ensuing consumerist boom. From books and billboards to menu cards and fans, suddenly images were ubiquitous a part of everyday life These were times that saw the rise in popularity of blithe illustrators such as Grasset, Mucha, Orazi and a wealth of other poster artists and decorators. Any fan of art nouveau will revel in this expo which showcases the golden age of early advertising.
